December 4, 2009- JCECDC received the Developer Award at the 11th Annual New Jersey Supportive Housing Conference. In 2009, JCECDC completed the development of 20 units of permanent supportive rental housing over 3 sites providing serviced enriched housing to formerly homeless families/individuals with special needs serving an additional 35 people under our CCMH Program.  The conference was hosted by the Corporation for Supportive Housing and the Supportive Housing Association of NJ.

November 18- Jersey City, NJ –  Jersey City Episcopal Community Development Coporation (JCECDC) was the receipient of the  Neighborhood Impact Award at the Local Initiatives Support Corporation’s 7th Neighborhood Achievement Awards.  The Neighborhood Achievement Awards recognize individuals and organizations within the community development arena that are committed to revitalizing underserved neighborhoods throughout the State. This year’s Awards Program was sponsored by PNC Bank and hosted in conjuction with New Jersey Community Capital.

November 4, 2009- JCECDC celebrated the completion of its 6th supportive housing development. Completed by our Real Estate Division, the Columbia Park Place included the new construction of a 3 story mixed use structure with $1.4M in financing from the City of Jersey City, US Department of Housing and Urban Development and the NJ Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency’s Special Needs Trust. This building provides 6 permanent supportive housing units for families with specials needs with social services.

November 2009 – Jersey City Episcopal Community Development Corporation (JCECDC) of Jersey City, N.J., has received a $75,000 grant from the TD Charitable Foundation’s annual “Housing for Everyone” grant competition. The funding will be used to support affordable housing initiatives in Jersey City.

JCECDC was one of 56 winners selected for funding out of nearly 500 applicants.

Residential Intensive Support Team (RIST)
JCECDC has been awarded funding from the NJ Division of Mental Health Services for Hudson County’s first Residential Intensive Support Team (RIST) Program. The RIST Program targets consumers who are living with serious mental illness and are homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness.
